Most bad breath is caused by a bacterial imbalance of the mouth. The germs responsible for this condition are called anaerobic bacteria. By ingesting certain types of foods and dead cells in your mouth, they release a sulfur compound as a direct result of the digestion process of these elements.
These gaseous wastes, when exhaled, are what causes bad breath. The more anaerobic bacteria are present in the mouth, the more sulfur compounds they release. Controlling their population is very important to achieve fresh breath.
